my
personal life
Born and raised in Chicago, I also have roots in Wisconsin, Colorado, California, and now Minnesota. I live with my wife, our kids, and a gigantic German shepherd that sheds too much. I appreciate a quality grilled cheese, a good snowstorm, taking photos, and playing soccer. And despite my midwest origins, I am surprisingly good at getting cacti to thrive!

my background
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Denver and my Doctorate of Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. From Chicago to Los Angeles, I have spent the past decade in community mental health, providing therapy and psychological assessment for youth and families from diverse backgrounds and settings. I strive to collaborate with clients by integrating current best evidence, practice-based evidence, clinical expertise, and clients’ lived experiences in ways that are accessible and support each individual’s mental health goals.
My areas of training and experience include: Faith-based therapy, developmental, complex, and sexual trauma, veterans, law enforcement officers/first responders, grief and loss, eating disorders, and perinatal mental health. I am certified in Brainspotting, an effective somatic treatment method to process, release, and heal painful emotions, memories, and trauma. I use Brainspotting to facilitate the deepest level of healing. I am honored to work side by side with my clients in their therapeutic journey.

my specializations
I have extensive experience providing therapy for youth, adults, and families dealing with a range of mental health challenges. I have specialization in helping children and families heal from the effects of trauma and chronic stress. This includes, but is not limited to community violence, sexual abuse, grief and loss, and complex trauma. My approach is developmentally tailored, neurodivergent-affirming, and culturally sensitive recognizing each person’s unique strengths, differences, and needs.
Therapy uses two primary, often integrated, approaches to healing: top-down (cognitive, brain-based) and bottom-up (somatic, body-based). I am trained in EMDR and certified in TF-CBT.
