time for your life changing moment
Gretchen Martin, MA, MHP
I am a mother of two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and a grandmother to two. I live in Minnetrista, MN, with my husband, Michael, and corgi, Prudence. I cherish time spent with my family and friends, going on walks in nature, yoga, painting, traveling, playing games, reading non- and historical fiction, and cooking.
I received my bachelor’s degree in art education from Texas Tech University, taught middle and high school, and earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler Graduate School, Minnetonka, MN. My experience thus far is with helping individuals and their families challenged with symptoms related to co-occurring ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, addiction, adjustment, gender dysphoria, female sexual dysfunction, bipolar, trauma, and disruptive mood dysregulation disorders to manage and overcome them.
I approach therapeutic relationships in an accepting, nonjudgmental, culturally sensitive manner while working with you to discover insight for a more harmonizing lived experience. I specialize in counseling teens and young adults who are seeking answers to life’s challenges, self-acceptance, and tools for navigating their lives while empowering parents to grow with, support, and/or understand their children. My theoretical orientation lies mostly in Person-Centered, Adlerian, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive Behavior therapies to promote connection, self-awareness, movement, and expanding change.
