Lana Sunderland, MA, LGSW
I live in Minneapolis with my partner. I like to spend time reading, playing music, connecting with nature, and being with friends and family. I pursued counseling as a career because I saw how loved ones with mental illness were stigmatized and I wanted to be part of changing that. I am passionate about advocating that we can shape the life we want and I want to help people on their journey toward healing and living.
I have my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota. My professional background includes being in roles of therapist, mental health practitioner, crisis worker, case management, behavior analyst, direct care, and co-facilitating group work around psychoeducation and DBT skills. I have worked with people from all varying demographics and ages.
My specializations include treating trauma, depression, and anxiety. I have training in modalities of Trauma-Based Relational Intervention and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I also have training in Indigenous teachings that can help toward holistic healing.
